Winter Off-Season Training
SESSION: Jan 5th - Feb 20th, 2026

DETAILS:

  • DATES:   January 5th - February 20th

  • DAYS:  Monday/Wednesday/Friday - Each Week 

  • LOCATION:  Erie High School 

  • TIME:  3:00-5:00pm

BENEFITS:

Pre-Season Training is far and away the best way to ensure a productive, enjoyable, enriching season.  The foundation of the season is formed the during the off-season and leads to an exponential increase in performance.  Additionally, pre-season training is the best way to prevent injuries.

FOCUS:

- Coaches will provide weekly training program and meet in person three days per week.   Two other days will be offered through the track team and athletes are encouraged to attend those practices as well. 

- Foundational Off-Season Endurance Training.

- Sprint Development, Speed Drills, Strength Training.

- Stretching, Mobility, and Recovery principles.

​WEEKLY OVERVIEW  FOR DISTANCE & MID-DISTANCE CREW:

  • MONDAY:  Workout - Strength/Endurance Focus

  • TUESDAY:  With Track Team or On Your Own:  Recovery Run + Hills or Strides & CORE

  • WEDNESDAY: Long Run

  • THURSDAY: With Track Team or On Your Own: Recovery Run + Speed Drills and Strides & CORE

  • FRIDAY: Workout - Speed Endurance Focus

  • SATURDAY: (Captains Led) Recovery Run

  • SUNDAY: OFF or Easy Cross Training

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

We will plan to keep the same scheduled practice regardless of weather and will communicate in a timely manner if practice is cancelled.  The group will meet inside to prep for practice and distance runners will train outside most days.  If footing is not safe we will make timely adjustments.  If school is cancelled then we will not hold practice on those days.  

 

NOTE:

Proper winter training clothing is required! Warmup pants, sweatshirt, long sleeve, running jacket, gloves and hat should be brought to practice daily regardless if the weather seems unseasonable warm.

  • $200
